A clarifying shampoo has Sulphates but No Silicones. But you are not supposed to use Sulphates in CG method, isn't it? Well, there are some desperate times we need it.
Why would I need to clarify?

2. The same products doesn't seem to work on your hair anymore:- It's because of the build up that is caused from using all the products. They stop working on your hair suddenly and you don't seem to understand why.
3. You're still using silicones:- Whether you're using a conditioner, leave in conditioner, serums on your with Silicones they will always build up. You can't remove that build up with a mild, no poo or low poo shampoo.
4. Chlorine:- If you're a swimmer or you just love the pool, the chlorine will build up on your hair and make it dry. You need to clarify it out of your hair.
5. It gives you a clean slate:- If you feel even after washing your hair it doesn't feel as clean and healthy, then my dear friend you need to Clarify.
6. Dry, dull, limp and lifeless hair:- Build up is one of the causes for dry, dull and lifeless hair. The build up doesn't allow the products to penetrate deep in your hair.

How often to clarify?
Since the shampoo contains sulphates and our hair is naturally dry, one should clarify at least once a month. When you clarify, this shampoo will remove all the dirt, mineral oil, chlorine, Silicones, build up, etc.
Point to remember though, after every clarifying wash, you need to deep condition it with a moisturizing deep conditioner. As it contains sulphates that can cause dry hair, you need to restore the moisture.
